Common sense is defined by Merriam-Webster as "sound and prudent judgment based on a simple perception of the situation or facts" and by Wikipedia as "a term with philosophical origins, which is today commonly used to refer to a basic ability to perceive, understand, and judge things which is shared by ("common to") nearly all people, and can be reasonably expected of nearly all people without any need for debate."
Unfortunately common sense seems to be a dying entity. Common sense involves having sound judgement and a good understanding of the facts. This involves more than having someone tell you what they think are the facts it involves studying out for yourself the details and coming to your own understanding. This involves a dying art of "thinking." If we want to have common sense we must learn how to think. Now some "elites" would tell us the lie that this is difficult and complicated but it really isn't. Everyone can become great thinkers. Our great nation was built upon the foundation of great thinkers and I'm not talking about just the 50-60 or so individuals frequently called the "Founding Fathers." In their day most Americans were "thinkers."
How do we become "thinkers"? We read, read, read. All of the great leaders throughout history were voracious readers. This isn't something that these individuals were "born" into or a special gift that they had over anyone else. History is replete with individuals of low standing or limited means who achieved greatness through personal study and application. Benjamin Franklin was only one of those.
I have recently finished a great book titled "Uncommon Sense" by Stephen Palmer I highly recommend all to read this as it give one of the best descriptions of what we are going through and provides a game plan for us to retake our country and restore it to its roots. Not only does this book tell us how we should be working to bring our country back to greatness but also how we can proceed into the future to make it even greater.
In chapter 39 Stephen Palmer provides a rewrite of the Declaration of Independence or as he calls it the "Declaration of Dependence." It is found here: http://stephendpalmer.com/declaration-dependence/
Join me in my personal improvement and efforts to build our great nation.

The Basis for everything else
Today most Americans recognize that our once great nation is lacking. People recognize that we do not have the status and power that we had only a few years/decades past.
A large portion really don't care and only wish to live their lives as it currently is. {Unfortunately these folks fail to realize that unless somethings done soon they won't be able to live out the rest of their lives at the current standard of living and with the current level of liberties}
Another large portion of Americans recognize that something is seriously wrong but not sure as to what it really is or how to deal with it. These folks wish something would or could be done to fix it but as they are unable to understand the details of what exactly is the problem they have no idea as how to fix it. Often these folks are pushed one way and then another by the media and those in power who tell them first one thing and then another.
Lastly there are a few who know exactly what is going on. These folks recognize the workings and details of the events and what they mean. This group is divided between those who want to keep it going on the path and those who wish to stop the current trend. This is the group that is leading the other groups. Now be aware that not all of those in this group are even attempting to be in control. Some have given up for one reason or other. A very select few are actively trying to steer, guide, manipulate or control this.
Historically in America the last group was the largest. People were active in our governance, mind you I didn't say government on purpose. Governance is different than government and much more comprehensive. Those who are active in governance are involved in all aspects of the government and it's workings, versus those who are involved in government may run for office or show up at a meeting if and when they think it just might involve something directly concerning them.
However being involved in governance is important but the most critical element is to be an Entrepreneur who are voracious readers. This is the single most important aspect that will guarantee our liberties and freedoms. Reading all sorts of books, more particularly the classics both recent and ancient, is what educates people to be aware of what is going on and how to effectively deal with it.
Being and entrepreneur is more than opening a business. This is a mind set where you see a problem and solve it without waiting for someone else to do so.

Introduction
The concept of the "Ditch Rider" comes from a talk by Oliver DeMille. In it he speaks of a town far up in the mountains located in a small mountain valley. The valley was habituated with no additional room for their children to build farms of their own. They came upon a solution. Not far away was a larger valley that was open and had fertile land. The only drawback was the lack of water. There was no river running through this valley. A solution was reached when they decided to build an irrigation ditch that would bring water to the valley. After a lot of work the ditch was completed and the valley was homesteaded. This worked well but the people realized that they were at the mercy of the ditch. Should anything happen to it, a flood, a washout, failure of the ditch due to cracks or any other possible occurrence the people of the valley would be wiped out. An event of only a few days would completely destroy the crops of the valley and force the people to leave in search of a livelihood. In an effort to protect the ditch they hired a "Ditch Rider" who's job was to ride the length of the ditch each and every day watching for possible problems. The Ditch Rider's job was to keep the ditch operational and safe while the people of the valley slept and carried on their daily lives. If there were storms in the mountains at night it was his job to quickly race up the trail on horseback to close the gate to the ditch before it could flood the ditch and the valley below.
Ditch Riders are those who work to keep others free to live their liberties in peace.
Ditch Riders do not blindly go about their duties, but they constantly prepare by studying and learning. They are never stratified with comfort of the moment but always look to reach higher levels of existence. In short true Ditch Riders are Entrepreneurs who are voracious readers.
I invite all to join me in my work to stand for and uphold the true principles of freedom.
